Commercial Solar Finance Sales Associate (Brooklyn, NY)

Compensation: Competitive hourly pay + Commission and benefits Start Date: Immediate openings available Ecogy is seeking a qualified Solar Sales Specialist to join their Brooklyn office. This position seeks highly motivated and innovative individuals to work in an exciting and challenging environment where teamwork and communication are vital to the success of the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Cold call prospects with value proposition
  • Research and identify project opportunities
  • Generate leads with commercial/industrial/non-profit/ and municipal prospects in multiple regions and states
  • Research property records, municipal databases, and other publicly available information for property details
  • Create a database of prospects
  • Qualify prospects for size and economics
Qualifications:
  • Extremely strong communication and interpersonal skills for both clients and colleagues
  • Excellent research skills
  • High level of comfort making cold-calls

Director of Information Technology (Brooklyn, NY)

Compensation: Competitive hourly pay and benefits Start Date: Immediate openings available Ecogy is seeking a qualified Director of Information Technology to join their Brooklyn office. This position seeks highly motivated and innovative individuals to work in an exciting and challenging environment where teamwork and communication are vital to the success of the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Be responsible for the overall planning, procurement, organization, operations, execution and maintenance of all IT needs within the organization
  • Implement and update technology solutions that improve capabilities and efficiency while ensuring reliability and security. Range of oversight includes all network and telecom infrastructure, hardware, software, phones, reporting tools, and web platforms
  • Provide helpful data for management decision making by ensuring databases have quality data and assisting in the development of user reports
  • Lead company-wide application analysis. Map the current IT ecosystem, evaluate existing technology, conduct needs assessment, evaluate new systems, and recommend technical solutions to redefine the IT ecosystem
  • Oversee all phases of IT projects from conception to completion. Responsible for all systems implementation, developments and updates. Provide expertise and support during systems upgrades, installations, conversions, migration and file maintenance
  • Devise and establish IT policies and systems, including information architecture, security, disaster recovery, best practices, and service provision, providing written protocols and guidance staff and end-users
Qualifications:
  • A skilled technology leader who also has solid development skills and can shift from high level strategy to the occasional hands-on coding
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field or equivalent academic and work experience is required
  • Knowledge of transaction processing systems and database structure and management is essential. Working knowledge of current database and development tools is important, especially SQL, HTML, web services and content management tools, SharePoint, Quickbase and Microsoft/Exchange platforms
  • Knowledge of both in-house and cloud based system infrastructure and security and project management best practices is essential.



Internships (Spring - 2019)

Policy Research Intern (Brooklyn, NY)

In this position you will analyse the current U.S. solar energy policy landscape with a focus on policy in the Northeast. You will keep track of the progress of relevant bills in the state legislature, analyse their impact on Ecogy’s business and their probability to passing, and suggest ways that Ecogy could influence the passing of the bill. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the clean energy space, a comfortable communicator in all settings, and enjoy the challenge of start-up life.

Responsibilities:
  • Study and participate in regulatory proceedings
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the dynamic policy environment unfolding around the US and internationally to clients and stakeholders
  • Participate in strategic discussions on business opportunities as they align with policy movements
  • Contribute to our internal knowledge base of policy and data assets
  • Foster relationships within the industry participants
Qualifications:
  • You are passionate and open-minded about the solar industry
  • You have experience working in the utility industry or demonstrated understanding of the energy transition
  • You are comfortable in a distributed work environment and have complete command of MS Office
  • You enjoy working in teams, but can problem solve effectively without instruction
  • Strong oral and written communication skills



Business Development Intern (Brooklyn, NY)

In this position you will aide the development of potential new projects and projects in the pipeline. You will contact potential clients and attain quotes from EPCs and solar system manufactures to support the development of the project. You will also analyse potential clients’ electricity bills, design solar system sketches, and work with a financial model to determine the viability of the business model. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the clean energy space, a comfortable communicator in all settings, and enjoy the challenge of start-up life.
